PMP Eligibility Requirements

Earning your PMP Certification is a commitment, and that’s why it is valued. According to PMI, there are more than 1,000,000 PMP certification holders across the globe. They’ve earned universally renowned knowledge.

And, to be eligible for the PMP credential, you must meet certain scholastic and professional experience requirements. All project management involvement must have been accrued within the last eight consecutive years proceeding to your application submission.

OPTION – 1

  • High School diploma, associate’s degree or global equivalent
  • Minimum 7,500 hours of project management experience / Minimum 60 months of project management experience
  • Minimum 35 contact hours of project management instruction

OR

OPTION – 2

  • Four-year degree (bachelor’s degree) or global equivalent
  • Minimum 4,500 hours of project management experience / Minimum 36 months of project management experience 
  • Minimum 35 contact hours of project management instruction


*Note: If you do not meet any of the PMP eligibility requirements, you can alternatively apply for Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Certification.
